NEW GENERATION PROJECTS

SUPPORTING GEORGIA'S RISING ELECTRICITY DEMANDS
To meet our member EMCs’ rising electricity demands, we have received approval to construct two new natural gas projects in Georgia: a two-unit combined-cycle plant in Monroe County and a simple-cycle combustion turbine unit at an existing facility in Talbot County.
Smarr Combined-Cycle
Monroe County
This cutting-edge energy facility represents a capital investment of more than $2 billion in Monroe County, and once completed, will be one of Georgia's most efficient, highest-performing and lowest-emitting natural gas plants.
For demonstration purposes only. Final site design to be determined.
Talbot Unit 7
Talbot Energy Facility
Representing a $360 million capital investment in Talbot County, this new 240-megawatt combustion turbine unit will become the seventh unit at the Talbot Energy Facility, making it the most efficient natural gas peaking plant in our fleet.
