These units represent the first advanced commercial nuclear reactors to come online in the United States in more than three decades. With Units 3 and 4 in service and operating safely, homes and businesses across Georgia are being powered by reliable, emission-free nuclear energy for generations to come.
Around-the-Clock Clean Energy
With Units 3 and 4 online, Plant Vogtle is now the largest generator of clean energy in the United States. These new units will provide reliable 24/7 power for Georgians for the next 60 to 80 years. With the addition of Units 3 and 4, in 2025, emission-free power will account for nearly 50% of the energy generated by Oglethorpe Power and provided by our related companies.
