Oglethorpe Power Announces Election of New Board Members

Tucker, GA (April 2, 2025)Oglethorpe Power is pleased to announce that three new members have been elected to its board of directors, including Kevin Bush of Cedartown, Ronnie Hendricks of Woodland and Chris Stephens of Newnan. Bush and Stephens will replace retiring board members, while Hendricks will fill a vacant seat. All three positions were elected by Oglethorpe Power’s 38 member cooperatives during the company’s annual meeting of its members on March 31, 2025.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Kevin, Ronnie and Chris to our board of directors,” said Oglethorpe Power President & CEO Annalisa Bloodworth. “Their diverse backgrounds and unique perspectives will add significant value to our already instrumental board. We look forward to their guidance as we continue to deliver on our commitment to providing the reliable and affordable energy our members count on, especially as our industry continues to experience rapid change.” 

Bush was elected to an outside director position, succeeding Ron Duffey who is retiring after 28 years of distinguished service to Oglethorpe Power. Bush is a licensed certified public accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Shadday Family Office since 2011. With expertise in contract negotiations, financial forecasting, corporate debt structure and project costs, Bush will serve as the financial expert on the board’s audit committee. 

Stephens succeeds Randy Crenshaw, who has contributed nine years of dedicated service to the company’s board. Stephens is the President and CEO of Coweta-Fayette EMC and CEO of True Natural Gas. He holds a professional engineering certification and serves on several other boards, including Georgia EMC, Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Georgia 4-H Foundation and GRESCO, where he currently serves as Chairman.   

Hendricks has served as a Director of Upson EMC since 1999 and currently holds the position of Chairman. He is a member of the Georgia EMC board of directors and has served as a member representative for Oglethorpe Power, Georgia Transmission and Georgia System Operations. Hendricks is the Assistant County Manager for Talbot County and has previously held various leadership positions, including Chairman of the Talbot County Tax Assessors Board, Chairman of the Trinity Christian Academy School Board and Vice Chairman of the Talbot County Planning Commission.

Other board members re-elected at the annual meeting include Jimmy Bailey of Diverse Power, Fred McWhorter of Rayle EMC, and George Weaver of Central Georgia EMC.
