(TUCKER, Ga., July 9, 2019) – Oglethorpe Power Corp. recently donated two Amazon Fire HD tablets, continuing the organization’s tradition of supporting communities across the state.  The tablets will be used as prizes for completion of the Talbot County Library Summer Reading Program.

“We love to support children and education, and the library’s Summer Reading Program supports both of those initiatives in Talbot County,” states Mary Long, senior community relations coordinator, Oglethorpe Power Corp.  “Oglethorpe Power focuses on supporting the communities in which we own and operate power plants. Supporting the residents of Talbot County is extremely personal for us because this is our home, too.”

Located in Talbot County, Oglethorpe Power Corp. owns and operates Talbot Energy Facility, a gas-fired combustion turbine power plant capable of producing 682 MW.
